Honiton Artist Pauline
Selhurst has finished her long awaited painting “Honiton
Rooftops”
The picture looking down toward Kings Street from Millhead Road
clearly shows St Michael’s Church tower on a beautiful spring
afternoon.
Pauline has been painting for over 30 years, originally in oils
and then with pastels, she always depicts her subjects with a
romantic glow and warmth.
This work in oils is no exception showing the contrasting
colours of the buildings and rooftops in the shadow of St
Michael’s Church with the flag of St George flying.
Pauline said of this anticipated work “I have been meaning to
paint this picture for some time, I love this view and on my
many walks have often stood and said to myself ‘that’ll make a
great picture’!” I eventually got around to beginning the work
in the spring, before the rains came! And have completed it now”
I really hope the people of Honiton will like it.
The original is for sale at £580 and is framed in a simple
washed frame which does not detract from the picture and can be
seen in Bel-ami, 138 High Street, Honiton. A limited edition
signed Giclee print is available either framed or unframed
(Framed £275 Unframed and mounted £180) Any house owner who is
featured in the picture may have a 15% Discount off these
prices.
Emma Ranson Bellamy gallery proprietor said “I really love this
picture, it’s a splendid tribute to a wonderful town, it’s
simple and warm, a welcome edition to an art lover’s wall. We
are very fortunate to have such a talented artist on our
doorstep who really appreciates the beauty of the town. Bel-ami
are delighted that Pauline has chosen us to exclusively show her
picture and as an outlet for the prints, we are sure this is
going to be the must have Christmas gift for Honiton residents.
